The King of Gaits: The Canter

If we call the walk Queen of gaits, then the canter is most definitely the king. 

Riding the canter well can be tricky for many riders. It seems that any imbalances in the mobility of the pelvis appear in the canter. Often times riders feel blocked in the pelvis during the canter. This can cause our horses to continue to remain crooked and imbalanced.

This can also prohibit riders from moving up the levels! A good canter is a wonderful thing, and being able to ride it well is truly divine.

This is mostly what riders want to work on with the simulator is the canter. The simulator will continue to canter while participants can begin to feel how the pelvis, spine, hips, legs, shoulders, elbows and hands move during the canter.

Join me for this six week unmounted training program all about the canter. We will meet Fridays at 6-7:15pm MDT during this six week period. 

Learn about the pelvis, hip joints, abdominals, pelvic floor, breathing, spine, sacrum, shoulders, hands, neck and head in the canter.

Mounted and unmounted weekly assignments that use imagery to enhanced feel, balance and posture. Participants will also curate their own training plans mount canter.

This workshop is a must with the simulator addition to be able to put the 6 week course together with simulator practise.

Find your seat in the canter to optimize balance, communication and coordination. Participants will leave the course with an unmounted training plan to improve movement of the body in the canter. Enjoy fun assignments and exercises during the six weeks to practise with your horse to improve the canter.
